Hi everyone
A big thank you to Club members who attended Assembly last Sunday.  In particular to Richard who looked after the show-stand for the entire day, talking to as many people as possible about our sanitation project in PNG. Also to Sherry and Ty who were responsible for organizing and putting together the showcase display and dismantling it all at the finish. Vivien also did a good job in the presentation of the photographs. It was great to see a good representation from our Club at Assembly that is a big commitment for an entire day on a weekend (especially such a lovely one as it was on Sunday).
It is now only a few weeks to our annual fun run and walk and thank you to all our Club members who have already put up their hands to help on the day and in the lead up.  We are still looking for many more volunteers…….. and would really appreciate hearing from any Club members who may still have volunteers who could help out on the day.  So that Ty and his team can pull the groups together, please email him ( with the name, phone number and email address of any volunteers you can muster.  He needs this information as soon as possible, so that we can arrange familiarization sessions prior to the event. Next fun run meeting Tuesday 8th May 7.00pm 1 Burilla Avenue, North Curl Curl.
Have a great week and look forward to seeing you next Tuesday morning when we have our special guests James Griffin, Michael Regan, Candy Bingham and Dave Darcy attending.

District News

Email from Janice Shipway from Hilton and Howick Rotary Club South Africa. Re Leadership and Entrepreneurial Course for Grade 11 students 30 September to 6 October 2018. They are requesting that we sponsor 8 students at a cost of $A2960 in total. The Rotary club would select the most promising students from ten recommended local deserving schools in the area. All agreed decision to be made after the Fun Run when we know how much funds we have to distribute.

Dates for the diary

Post run Fun Run social - Friday 15th June. Bev and Tracy to organise

Change over dinner - 28th July.

Money Spinner

Sherry proposed an idea of purchasing a temporary money spinner. It costs $1450 & gst and it should pay for itself within 2-3 months if in a well trafficked area. If purchased now it could be temporary installed for the Fun Run and then found either a permanent home or temporary home (3 months at a time) with local organisations. There is currently one outside Coles in Stockland and one in Humphreys. All agreed it is worthwhile and worth trying. Sherry to look to see if a second hand one could be purchased.

Centurion Money Towers

Club members discussed who had Money towers and the process. You can either collect $2 coins in the tower ($100 when full) or you can donate on a weekly/monthly basis and not fill a tower with all money going to Rotary Foundation. A number of towers were given out to club members who didn't have towers.

Vivid Cruise

A cruise is being organised by e-Rotary club. $60 a ticket, Friday 8th June. See details below if anyone is interested in going.

Advertising. As of Sunday night we have 321 registered, approx. 100 down from this time last year. Majority of people registered are past participants that have received an email from us and the rest are through social media. We need to get the flyers up everywhere. Ted to handover flyers to the shops on the Corso, everyone else to distribute as previously discussed.

Route - Doug displayed the map and talked everyone through the new 10km & 5km routes as well as the 2km. The maps showed where the traffic police will be located and where marshalls are required.

Head Marshalls - Ty talked though the marshalling areas and which club members are allocated to which areas. Any questions or comments please see Ty

Letter box drop - will need to be done in the weeks just before the Fun Run
