PRESIDENT DOUG'S WEEKLY REPORT

Hi again
We had further progress this week on action planning within each of our Committee groups. This is great and wonderful to see however with one third of our year now over, we need to ensure plans start getting translated into action – soon! Christmas is not that far away, and the Fun Run will take up everyone’s time pretty much from the moment we get back from our break.

With that in mind, could I encourage everyone to;

  • Have another look at the challenges (opportunities) each of our Committees offer, and consider joining at least one more – we’ve all got varied interests, and skills, and we need your support.
  • Make every effort to attend those breakfast meeting where Committee work is being scheduled. ‘Service above Self’ is what we joined Rotary for, and Committees provide the most important vehicles through which ‘service’ can be given.
  • But above all, don’t shy away from having your own meetings, after hours – it’s where most of the most valuable work you can do will get done (and it can be fun!)
Finally, I’d ask ALL Directors and Committee Chairs to ensure they put the evening of the last Tuesday of the month aside for our next Board Meeting, where we’ll take a good look at what’s planned and being actioned to keep us on track with our goal of becoming ‘the Go-To Service Club on the Northern Beaches’: a Club our community wants to continue to support.

Many thanks and I hope you have a great week, Doug

Joke of the week

What am I supposed to do with this?

"What am I supposed to do with this?" grumbled a motorist as the policeman handed him a speeding ticket.
"Keep it," the cop said, "when you collect four of them you get a bicycle."
