Rotary is a worldwide organisation of men and women of all backgrounds and ages who volunteer their efforts to 'making a real difference' in their own communities and beyond, living up to their motto of 'Service Above Self'.  Now in its 110th year, Rotary International has over 34,000 clubs in 217 countries, with membership numbers totaling 1.2 million plus.

Rotary's Vision is: To make the world a better place for all.
Our international goals include polio eradication, disaster relief, and provision of safe water supplies, medical care, sanitation facilities and education throughout the world.
The magic of Rotary is that it allows ordinary people to achieve the most extraordinary things. By using the powerful synergy of one, people unite to achieve exceptional change. Many ordinary members of Rotary have developed projects that have brought significant change whilst experiencing personal growth in an organisation that is respected worldwide for its high values and standards.
What about Manly Rotary?
Manly Rotary Club is proud of its achievements, the most recent ones being:
  • Bear Cottage (Manly) – donated funds for equipment to assist in giving respite care to terminally ill children and their families
  • Manly Community Center (Manly) supports our homeless and disadvantaged residents. Manly Rotary Club has completed major renovations to the center.
  • Manly Hospital– We have funded state of the art diagnostic facilities and equipment to ensure our local hospital can cater to our communities’ needs.
  • Manly Women’s Shelter– Manly Rotary Club initiated the establishment of the Manly Women’s Shelter for our homeless women and has ensured that as demand for assistance has grown more facilities are brought on line.
  • Pioneer Clubhouse Manly Rotary Club has completed a major renovation to provide additional facilities for the vocational rehabilitation of adults with mental illness, and supported the lease/purchase of a new transport vehicle
  • Royal Far West (Manly) – Manly Rotary Club renovated accommodation for children and their families needing medical treatment and respite
We've been pleased in the process to have received numerous awards - both from Rotary both in Australia and Internationally, and from our community too:
  • District 9680's Community Service Projects Award
  • Rotary International's 'Change Maker' Award
  • Two Warringah Electorate Volunteer of the Year/Meritorious Service Awards
  • A related award from Manly Council
  • Rotary International's Significant Community Service Project Achievement Award
  • Manly Council's Australia Day Award for our Fun Run for its Significant Contribution to Our Community (2014)
In a word, we've been grateful for the ways our local community has backed us, and supported our cause!
