Anna’s Induction:
It was a lovely event.  All club members welcomed Anna,  it was a pleasure to welcome Anna to the  Rotary family. We took pictures so these will also be available on the website.
Geena gave a very interesting presentation on her experience. She has had quite a bit of publicity about her book (“Call me Sasha” her memoir published in 2014), including ABC, OnePlusOne and Elle Magazine. She was homeless at 15 due to problems with her father and by 18 started prostitution to earn money. She spent 19 years in and out of this life and finally was able to get out of it through amazing internal strength. She has now 3 degrees and has a job in Business Management. She does this important work towards empowering young women so they don’t fall into the same situation that Geena experienced.
As Geena wrote Call Me Sasha she unearthed a love of writing and then completed a Master of Arts in Creative Writing at University of Technology Sydney. She remains drug and alcohol free and is an advocate for empowering young women to make better life decisions.
